I was wondering if a positive feedback system could be implemented, à la Xbox Live. I've just had a couple of good games with chav_h8r2, and was thinking it would be nice just to leave a note - say on the profile - saying "great games", "good sportsman", etc. It could also have negatives, which could help with moderation without the need for entire chat logs to be sent. I have no idea how it would work, or how hard to code, but if it is viable, it would be good to know what everyone thinks.

i like the idea but your relyin on users to be "nice" as such rivalrys cud easily get out out of hand and become slanging matches on profiles aswell. If there was some way to monitor it, it wud be good. but cant see the moderators wanting to do that with the number of members. so if the owner of profile had a delete comment option it mite work.

There's nothing wrong with being pessimistic - it's how flaws are spotted and fixed. The way I envisaged it was working 'in the background' - comments aren't shown on the profile, but they provide a record for the admin of who people like, and who is rude during games. This still doesn't fully address the problem of rivalries - there would still be nohing to stop people posting false comments to give someone a bad reputation, but maybe that can be looked into.

i do like it think maybe a back ground idea would be good not to keen on turning profiles into a myspace or bebo idea if you get what i mean?

Yea, this should be a pool site first and foremost. Its just something to think about though, because there isn't anywhere really to say things like that (so far as I know).
