What about if people start making a birthday up and it will be flooding with messages. Pretty pointless and too much hard work cos how many birtthdays from users each day? a lot i would guess..

Maybe just having your birthday on your profile...

I reckon Nick makes the website. But not the Java parts, ie the game. Could be wrong, but its such a beeyatch messing with hardcore Java. i would pay someone to save me the hassle.

Oy! I am behind the entire site development!! The whole site is Java, even the HTML is generated through Java

Try coding C/C++ that is much more ugly.

Its full blown Java alright, javascript is the equivalent of VERY basic basic!

Hey Nick, its C++ i work with, i think its a beautiful language!

(ok, thats my inner motivational speaker speaking!)

As for the birthday thing - 365 days a year, 55000+ members, thats over 150 birthday messages a day!

Anyway, anyone who cant remember when thier birthday is probably wont have a computer

Was posting this as a beginners point of view for coding rather than an experienced programmer.

C++ can be elegant. But for me when I've joined a large Java project half way through development stage it is usually a lot easier to get to grips with than an equivalent C++ project. (My subjective view - possibly forced by my failing of being able to understand a series of operators in a row!)

Well to be honest, its hard to think of it as elegant after a few hundred hours, i'm sure you feel the same about java!

I've been lucky with when i was born, i kinda grew at the same time the languages did. I'd hate to have to start learning any of them now!

(I did take a look at visual basic. A VERY quick look! LOL!)
