It's a fair point, but...

If somebody is causing trouble from one particular place then all the website and service provider are interested in is the i.p. address. They would not be the slightest bit interested in distinguishing which family member it might have been causing the abuse, and rightly so. Most websites have terms of service, as do service providers.

The basic rule here is respect others and play the game, not a lot to ask for in my opinion. If people insist on creating accounts with the sole purpose of causing trouble in some form or other they should fully expect to experience the not so tolerant side of things.

And we are very tolerant to a large degree, despite what some people might think. Every member of staff on this site is a pool lover, most of all the person who created the site! Believe me, we would much rather spend more of our time playing pool than spend time on the more negative side of things.

The most important thing to remember is the trouble makers are a very tiny minority, and i think we sometimes give them more credit than they deserve.

But from a users point of view, they dont know the brother/sister etc, only the person who is spoiling thier enjoyment of the game.

Remember, if a user breaks the rules, and (rightly) gets an IP ban imposed, it is THEM not Funkypool who has denied thier family the right to play.

Its called responsibility.

yeah i agree with both pool_life and spinner. ip ban i think should be for persistant offenders!

So let me get this right.... you can have multiple accounts as long as you dont cause trouble... or if you be a friendly person the admins and mods turn a blind eye

Basically thats the situation, but hopefully that wil change since simply having mulitple accounts is dishonest and abusing the system.

At the moment some people need more than one because of the forum posting limit, but hopefully when that's sorted there will be a mass banning of the ingrates so we can have a fair playing field (or table)

I can see both your points. But i recently inherited an account which i used for the annomity. But now all know my other name so i shall be deleating!

The anon' issue has been mentioned, but you have the option of being a guest for that..

(and if you want to do something you cant do as a guest, you shouldn't be doing it!)
