Is there anybody on here that has found someone from round around by them and they have had a different accent to the girlfriend/boyfriend?

Cause i have found someone and the accent is tottally different hehe.

Also has this wrecked your relationship?
Also if so who moved where and how did they settle?

Met someone literally on the road to work, who was born on a different island. Accents so different they are practically different languages.

Now happiliy maried and living approximately half way between where we both grew up...

Its if you meet someone with the same accent you need to worry!!!!

Ours are southern and east midlands. Hers isn't much different than mine except she uses words I've never heard of before, like 'mashing' for making tea and then pug, laking, miffy and ginny.

Get a new one about once a month ... eh that's a new word...not a new wife.

PS - Isn't 'mackam' Sunderland Tricky? Don't tell me...you've understood so little of what she's said, you still don't know where she lives?

A different accent atracts people to members of the opposite sex. Personally as a scotsman having been around a bit, ive found girls in other places, especially Australia and Canada, cant get enough of me. But ye, although it helps with people you just meet, in the long term it makes no difference whatsoever, as it has aboslutely nothing to do with the person themselves.

Well i live in the westend of Glasgow, and when i speak to certain types of people from the other side of the city i struggle to understand half the rubbish they talk. The Glasgow chav patter is world renound for being complete gibberish.
