Why do we have adverts?

Every now and then there are people coming on here moaning about the sky advert and there is a few thats giving me lagg and its really annoying me now

before spinner comes along... Adverts will not affect funkypool if your system is set up correctly, like the one i am using, the sky advert gives me no lagg on this pc, it does on my linux OS but i stop animation on it by right clicking and changing it to low quailty, stop it being on loop and rewind it to stop animation. I hope this helps

Adverts are for winners. I love lagg i think think it makes the world a better place. Click on the Sky advert and buy Sky. Then you'll realise how cool it all is.

Tricky - have a look through the forum for the many threads on lag, if none of those options help, post your details here and we'll try to solve if for you.

As for why do we have them, well it would seem obvious to most, but just in case you were being serious, its so we can have Funkypool!

Adverts do cause lag, im sorry but they do.

Anyway the adverts on this site are obviously the main source of income and rightly so as nick obviously would like to make a bit off this site so you cant blame him for that.

But when premium comes along users who purchase this add on will not be summoned to adverts, so if you pay you then you do not get lag from these adverts

Sorry K3v dude, but its only people's setups being wrong that make them get "ad lag".

I frequently play on an old 350Mhz laptop on 33.6k dialup and have never exprienced lag, and yes, all the ads are displayed just fine.

lol, well said spinner, i didnt believe it was about your systems set up till recently when i used this AMD 2800, 1 gig ram system!

Well, to clarify, its got nothing to do with the hardware (well, except the ATI gfx/Java issue), as proven by how smoothly the game runs on old systems.

My 512Mb/1.2 athlon system simply couldn't play the game for lag, despite it running fine on the laptop.

Ive spent many hours on lag probs so i'm more than happy to help anyone i can!

adverts = revenue for the site = free play for us all

personally i dont have a problem with ads, i see sometimes they slow game play down, but i adapt my play and carry on......cant see the problem myself
