This is in NO WAY a dig at the particular player that this is involves and i'll call them 'user' incase that they dont want their name mentioned for any reasons.

I started to play 'user' for some ranked games at UK. At I think 5-0 they asked if we could make it a 1st to 10. I said 'k'. i'm playing well untill 8-0, i then lose the next two frames. making it 8-2. I lost these by some pathetic shots that I really should have put away and some of the other shots were bad 2, i begin to moan about this as its annoying me. I say ' i really really wanna go now lol' an user starts to moan saying 'it has to be to 10 like we agreed' in the next frame i foul by potting two of 'users' balls and come out with 'rite i'm goin' he then exclaims that i'm putting him off and that i dont mind taking his points when 'user''s not playin so well. 'user' then goes on about how they hate it when people are winning then leave when they lose a frame or 2 followed by 'man i'm dissappointed in you, didn't think you were like dat'

Those who know me will know that I get annoyed with myself quite a lot and the current high rating doesn't help matters either.

The final score was 10-2 to me, I did finish the games dispite not wanting to.

Is this bad sportsmanship from me? Or isn't it?

Just wanna set my mind at rest.

On a serious note though, if you agree to first to 10 you should play it really.

i think you should play first to 10 .. but maybe let you have a break and come back and finished the games off another time so both people win u get your break and he gets his 10 games

Sos squeezy your a nice chap and all but i can see the 'users' point! If you both agreed to play to 10 then i think as a sportsman you've entered into a verbal contract. I think you need to not get so annoyed at yourself, this can easily be mis-read in a game. We all know your a good guy though!!

Sorry Squeezy, but if you say first to ten it means FIRST TO TEN. I have often came back to win from more then an eight frame deficit against an opponent. Last thing you want though is when you start to find a bit of form and start to win a few games is for your opponent to start moaning and sayin Im off cause they play some bad shots and lose a few games... This is very very off putting and has happened me several times against players who run with the pts once they see they see the tables are turning. The fact you put this thread up means you didnt intend it like that, your a good sportsman and a really nice guy. Im sure your opponent knows this too.

You proved your sportsmanship by both finishing the games and posting this here. I'm sure the "user" will appreciate it.

I can see how he/she could have been dissapointed in a well respected user like yourself appearing to try to "get out" of the games though..

My guess is it was late on in a long night for you, and you had had enough generally!

How about in future, when things dont go well, either type those things in to notepad instead of the chat box, and if you stil feel like ranting after the series is finished, copy and paste em all in!

The fact squeezy not only finished the games, but that it bothered him enough to post about it, proves that he's totally sporting.

yeah I agree. To many people say 1st to 10 and then leave when they are 3-0 down. What's the point? So what if squeezy said he wanted to leave, the point is that he didn't. Never played squeezy but looking at ranks etc he is 1 of the very best on here so why wouldn't he be sporting?

You may remember the thread(s) i started way back suggesting that when creating games there should be the option to create a series. For Example "Spinner's Game (Race to 5)"

Then, once both players have committed to play, if one of the players leaves they forfiet rank for all games missed...

Sound fun?

Haha... well 25 would probably be a sensible limit, and there would have to be a pretty foolproof confirmation system..

But at the end of the day, if you dont wanna risk it for whatever reason (dodgy connections etc), dont play it!
