Generally speaking, if there's not a shot on then you should go for a safety. All pro pool players play by this tactic, even the most aggressive players. So it's probably good this is reflected in the game !

So Aceinawhole.

My your reckoning, when i play snooker...
I should never pot a ball?
I mean after all the game is called snooker, obviously potting a ball is not the idea of the game, snookers must be played every shot!

It can be frustrating when someone uses snookers excessively, but its online pool, is it worth acting like a sulking baby over?

playing snookers in all pool styles and in snooker is
ALL PART OF THE GAME It doesnt just refer to playing the game of snooker

Snooker means.........

Game on billiard table combining pool & pyramids
(~ed, having ones object ball covered by another.

This is from an old dictionary so a modern dictionary will be more elaborate, but along the same theme.

I snooker, i often get a "wp" from my opponent if i get it right (and i usually do).

No boasting intended, i practice snookers on uk 8 ball like mad, and i'm going to continue to do so until i am unstoppable.

Exactly cityfan.

Put it simply, ace is a bad loser, can't take a fair game and acts like a spoiled child when he loses.

Pool just isn't your game. Try chess

or funkysnooker

Now now children no need to make a war lol. Anyway i agree with snooker's being part of the game because it does happen infact it happens in all sports.

Cricket- England v Pakistan- Last day of a test series england chasing 500, England would obviously play safe and no risky shots.

Football- 1-0 up against a team with 5 minutes to go. You would obviously sit back and try to hit them on the Break lmao

im sure you can think of more but it is obvious that this is a global thing not just relating to snooker or pool.

I think I've seen aceinawhole complain about this before.

It's part of the rules, that's just the way it is. It takes skill to snooker, just like it does to clear the table. What's the difference?

ok last time i thread this , read carefully, i beat him 7 strait games ok , understand? Then next game he has shots but never attempts them , instead he snookers 3 strait times never attepted the shots he had thats plain B/S and you good players know that . And everybody i see made a paragraph about this was people i have never played before, maybe thats why there the ones making statements see me come play were playing 9 ball but we both snooker, whoever break it is will lose haha what a game ,, what a joke Aceinawhole

(posted by me - in case Martin didnt notice!)

Ace - you beat him 7 straight games, so he probably thought he couldn't out-pot you, changed his strategy, took his shots, and by taking them well he beat you.

Thats something you should be on the game shouts forum saying well done to the guy for, not trying to make it seem like a fault with the game!

As you said before, you grew up in the pool halls with some of the very best 9ball players, therefore you will know that a 3 snooker win is the holy grail of all 9ballers.

With me being a very attack-minded player and being near useless defensively, it's not nice to lose to a very defensive player. However, they're free to play how they want and it's the opponent's job to deal with it. As k3v said, they are part of the game. Personally, I believe you get more out of the game if you try to play attacking and take some risks, but I understand that other people may disagree, because there is a certain level of skill involved in the defensive game.

Sorry Spinner - we were posting at the same time. I saw your post afterwards - and knew you'd D.I.Y. : )

I agree with you mach_3 in UK 8 terms, but Ace plays 9ball and I don't think snookering is defensive in that game. In fact, it's all out-attack, because not only can you win on snookers within 3 shot, you can also play the most attacking snooker there is - and set yourself up for a tap-in combo by leaving the object ball close to the 9.

That's not defensive play at all - it's win-quick stuff.

Yeh i agree with both Martin and Mach

But i never play anything apart from UK as i was here about 6 months before it started and it is too hard to get used to when you have played for so long. My blood is clotted with red and yellow balls and long may it continue

Im only just starting to play the US games as im a UK player by choice, but i dont see any problem with snookers in any game.

It takes just as much skill to play and escape snookers as it does to pot balls and get position, its not always pretty or nice to be involved in but thats part and parcel the game isnt it?

Who cares how you win or lose, its only a game and a bit of fun so just enjoy it
