why does the sky ad come up every time its a shot on the blackthis advert is lagging the game is there a way u could stop it laggin

We don't expect you to troll through 4 months of threads but it would be nice if you looked at at least one page of titles to see if the topic wasn't currently under discussion!

Dude - i'm sorry to sound like a stuck record but its just a fact - please dont moan about the adverts here, they have nothing to do with Funkypool. If it is bothering you that much take it up with Sky...

I still dont understand why you dont just turn the ad off, but if you really wanna see it then how about posting your setup here so we can try to help you...

Spinner, seriously listen to yourself. The adverts have nothing to do with the site? So Sky just come along and put adverts wherever they chose?

I understand how the advertisment space is sold to a third party. But if the adverts they are putting on the site are effecting the way it is running, the owner of the site takes it up with them and requests it is either sorted or removed. It is then done. Full stop.

Dont lecture me with how these things work as I personally work encoding one of the countries largest airline websites.

Well in that case you will be well aware that the CONTENT of the adverts (which i was referring to above) have nothing to do with Funkypool.

If most users (out of the 55000+) dont have a problem, and relatively low spec machines can play without lag, that it is YOUR problem and not Funkypools problem..

I am offering to help you out but rather than post the details of your setup so we can look for the cause, you try to incite an argument where there isnt one.

Facts :

1.Funkypool dont make the ads, so its not thier fault.

2. 350Mhz Win 98 machines on dialup can play fine with no lag when the ad is displayed.

There are many issues whihc have cropped up over tie that cause lag. ATI drivers etc..

Also, as a web designer you will be well aware of the current issues with Flash 9.x and Java..

I'll be honest, i get lag when the sky ad comes up. simply put the quality to low, AND make sure MSN messenger isn't in the background, that's a real nightmare.

Try this trick...open the game window, then disconnect from the internet (pull out the wire), then the ad space comes up "page cannot be displayed".

It works but it's dodgy.

Well he's obviously sorted it or he would have got back..

Another option on the messenger front, if you must have it running, is to use windows messenger as opposed to MSN or Windows LIVE messenger..

The old windows messenger doesn't support all the flash addons so wont affect the system so much..

Yes this sky advert is really annoying me

when the sky ad comes up it dint lagg my comp but on my old one it made me lose connection and everything so its just ur machine make sure you do disk defragement and scan for virusees daily that way you wont have any problems
