I think there is a problem with this:

When i accidently clicked the start game button, i went to click off the game to leave, the opponent had yet to click to start the game as the notice came up saying *are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?* so i clicked ok but i heard the sound of the balls being hit.

I'm not fussed that i lost the points, but can anything be done about this? as i've grown a habit to just click that button.

is it really a problem? Or do you just need to be a teeny bit more careful and break that habit?

Nah i have a reeeaaallllyyy bad habit of doing that! I'll need to click something else really quick rather than the re rack button!

lol, i always check my opponents rank and stuff before i press it, occasionaly if i am playing a newbie with high rank i will check win percentage 7 ballings etc. never click it without looking

What happened to the leaving before 3 balls down rule???
it worked.

It was ditched due to players attempting the golden break then leaving.

Which was really annoying. I prefer how it is now.
