why can we do someting about these bad sports who play the time down every shot so that they can get themself the the other player threw out of tournaments. its cheating of the highest order so can we come up with faster time for each shot like 10 or 15 sec's and if players are not in room after 2 min will be .has any one came across these buttheads who are spoiling it for evey one who wants a fair game lets hope we cam sort them out. thanks all

But back to the subject - No-one can possible actually need 20 seconds for a shot. So why not make it 10 second for tourney games, this would help ease the boredom and keep things flowing smoothly...

(I mean need, as in, people dont need 10 minutes to do thier hair, but some people can spend 10 minutes doing it!!!)

Not sure they're generally cheating though. Some are suffering with lag etc. There's not much gain in getting yourself disqualified.

But it'd be good if time taken over shots could be automatically totted up.

That way, if a tourny game times-out, the player who took the most time to play would be the only one disqualified. Then both players won't be penalised for one person's pc probs.

I need 20 seconds quite regularly, as do lots of other players. This is because you're not only thinking about the shot you're about to play, but about your next few shots. Also, I use my time to consider my options and choose the best one. Spinner, you're much too opinionated for my liking, so put a sock in it please.

if u need 20 sec for a shot then ok i think 2 count up how long each player took there shots and the lower going into next round is a good shout as for putting a sock in it ..... its a forum dumass who cares what you like

Apologies if my opinions offended anyone, but i prefer too look at the screen while my opponent plays and decide my strategy from that point.

I think 20 secs is a reasonable time. As Mach said, you're not only thinking about 1 shot. Though with me, it's more:

1) Line up all feasible pots
2) Weigh up consequential secondary shots and subsequent possibilities.
3) Calculate trajectories, angles, motion and possible spin lag.
4) SMACK the balls as hard as I can in a mad blood-rush to the head, aiming at absolutely nothing, whooping like a coyote and falling off my chair.

It's not perfect, but it works for me.

If you don't need the 20 secs play every shot quickly, this will give them about 15 minutes to take all their shots. If you can't win a game that quickly then you are not going to win the tourny anyway so it doesn't really matter.

And Martin - points 1-3 are all done before its your turn, so you have a whole 19 seconds (assuming its a small chair) to get up and take your shot!

How is it cheating? You are entitled to 20 seconds for every shot that you play. So what your on about is not cheating at all. Bad sportsmanship, but not cheating.
