Would it be possible to have a room dedicated to arguements. With a notice warning users of the risks of entering etc.
As shown from the forums there are a number of opinionated users and if there were a place to express these opinions it may result in less abusive threads/posts on the forum.
In the long run it may improve users ability to structure an arguement and therefore the issues raised on the forums could be dealt with more maturely.
Having an arguements thread is not a could it be made, more a a question of whether it would be allowed and whether posts would be deleted in the masses etc.
Could an admin please post their thoughts on this.

Good idea squeezy, but maybe a debate room more than an arguement room, but i see your point.
I think that, (backing your idea), it would be a great place to settle disagreements, but should have a monitor so that users who dont often post threads dont see it as an opportunity to start an arguement or abuse other users in the thread - then it would really go off rail...
But yes, rather than arguements being scattered all over the site, a debate/arguement room would be helpful.

I agree. I've asked for a swearing room before.
MODERATOR: More swearing and abuse please.
Guest 611 booted for polite conversation.
EDIT: That was in response to last but one post etc. I agree tho, a debating room with a warning could be goo

I Totally agree!! "What do you mean i dont".....I DO FFS!! "NO YOU D...........Anyways, lol would be good to let a little steam off every now and then, we cant be expected to be nice, and agree with everything ALL the time can we? I'm with Ste (Mr G) on the name of it tho, to be called an argument room would only entice those wanting to argue out of sheer bordem (We must of all noticed at some point there are some ppl like that) So, what do you say Admin?
(ps if it goes ahead, ive got a serious issue that needs resolving, so i'm 1st in!..Well, would you accept a scruffy Donkey for a lift home off a so called mate? *cough dr_lovepump cough*)

I hate to post this as it will seem like i'm winding some people up, but we already have plenty of "argument" threads! I should know, i've been in a few!
None are deleted and unless posts are offensive they are left alone.

But they are not based purely on the idea of having an arguement, there is an issue or comment that a user has said and others disagree.
As you have said on another post recently 'I think the way the threads are handled are excellent.' surely this means that once an arguement breaks out the thread is dealt with?
You also said 'unless posts are offensive they are left alone' which may in itself answer ym previous point. However, what I am asking for is an area for users to speak freely, with only racist and other very offensive comments deleted.
Dispite obvious problems this may initially have I feel that in the long run certain users will learn how to put across their concerns more assertively without being offensive, it will allow matters to be discussed from a wider variety of users who can all put across their views in a simular manner, therefore making the admin's job easier to see the general opinions of the users of the site.

Reminds me of this classic Python sketch.
(Walk down the corridor)
M: (Knock)
A: Come in.
M: Ah, Is this the right room for an argument?
A: I told you once.
M: No you haven't.
A: Yes I have.
M: When?
A: Just now.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: You didn't
A: I did!

95% of chat rooms and threads on the internet are devoted to arguing... errr... discussing, so maybe better to have a "no argument zone".

I think squeezy just wants a room made where players can abuse and threaten each other all day.

I have to stick up for Squeezy here. In the initial thread he never once (as i remember) posted anything personal.
I think this situation got way out of hand, because the deleted thread had more than one vein of thought runing through it. The general "whats good for the site" attitude of Squeezy and Co, and the more personal vendetta's of others.
Thankfully its all over now..
