I'm having a hard time dealing with the new point system , especially in 9 ball. Maybe some of you have noticed , not alot of people play 9 ball compared to the other games. And when you have to play others that are of lower rank , it's hard to maitain an adept or professional status when you lose more points than gain , even when you win more games than lose. I mean really now, 5 1/2 to 6 points for a loss is pretty harsh, from any rank. Can't we lessen the severity of this a little ?

I think the new system is great. It is an excellent incentive to play those of similar ability rather than those far far below.Same with tournaments, winning against those of much lower skill is no fun at all,is it?

You're obviously not a 9 ball player. Yes i want to play others closer to my rank , but when the choice is extremely limited because most of the higher ranks don't play very often , you have to play lower ranks or you don't play. I don't have a problem with the other games really , just 9 ball. And btw , I don't play those "far far below".

To lose 6 points how much below is that person in 9 ball?If you think 9 ball is bad you might like to try a little snooker where the maximum loss i have seen is around 17 points or so.Certainly does focus the mind.Thats fine as long as you do not encounter too many virtuoso's playing under a second name or helping a friend to get higher rank.
