Loads of threads on here moaning about unsporting behaviour, gamesmanship etc.
So should congratulate sporting play too, cos I think the majority are sporting.
For instance - I created a 9ball game and forgot about it. Instead of racking up points, Spenny left the game after first frame (couldn't leave first frame cos a ball down). He could have got 4 points a game.
Not only that, he then contacted me and offered to play me to give me the points back. I declined obviously, but I think that's really decent of him.
Nice to see ppl who behave so sportingly, and who prefer to play rather than cheat.

*pool_life reaches for his trumpet*
I remember being in a semi final tournament game that crashed, and we were both facing a DQ. I had no trouble leaving the game and letting my opponent go through to the final, because to me that's as good as winning the tournament!
I also remember a couple of times playing really well in tournaments, and coming up against a certain player in the latter stages. Both times the score was 1-1, and both times my opponent offered me the victory because they thought i had deserved it.
Of course i declined, but i did thank her for the kind offer!
So I agree with you Martin. There are numerous players on here with good manners and a kind heart, and they make playing the game such an enjoyable experience.
3 cheers for Spenny!!!

reminds me of a tourny i was once in , few people watch the final of me and middles_boro , was really good games.
was 2-1 to me wih very little time left, all the balls were cluttered and no chance of clearing , we left it till the last second , he tried potting black ( fouling ) and i left the game at the same time , he won the tournament cus i left in jus b4 him , was on of best sets of games i ever had and i dont see it as a win or loss ,
thats good sportsmanship on both parts which i agree good sportsmanship should be congratulated and not bad sportsmanship moaned about

How could I forget this one?
January the 3rd, and it’s the 7pm tournament. The final awaits ‘christ’ and ‘basha’.
After a hard fought slog the score is 2-2, and the balls are racked for the deciding frame. Then the unimaginable happens! Christ’s Internet connection goes down and he starts to see the 1/8 etc. Panic sets in, and he tries to reconnect, but his modem is saying there’s an error. At this point he realizes that restarting his computer was the only way to rectify the problem, so it’s goodbye to the final!
Here’s where the good sportsmanship comes into the equation. Basha offered to play a deciding game in the hope that an admin would remove his victory and give it to the winner. He was willing to risk losing a tournament win, even though he wasn’t at fault in any way.
Now that’s good sportsmanship!

In marathon tourney final against squeezy my game crashed at 1-1 and squeezy offered to play remaining games on poolsharks to decide who left the room. However, he wasn't quite so generous as he beat me 5-2.

I agree 100% that good sportsmanship should be applauded, and because of that i wanna give a shout-out to NUTTA.
He knows why, and he made me enjoy the game more than i have for years! I was actually enjoying winning by the time it finished!
Cheers m8! may there be more like you....
