I see newbies are not playing many games because of higher level rankers.You know YOu know.
something will have to be done about this if not the players will drop off this site a a sack of sh*t

He didn't say he didn't like it. I dont know how you can tell that theres less newbies. It would be great if an admin could give us the real facts; if that is true we need to get our act together because as the old ones move on there needs to be someone there to take their place. otherwise no games for us!

When did he say anything bad about the site? He was just asking people to help play newbies more often..

I agree with this, its part of the reason for my "keeping rankings hidden till the end of a game" suggestion, and also why i pointed out that, if rank concerns you, you lose less points against a newbie than you do against others.

So just play 'em (and let them win a few to keep 'em!)

Hey spinner - it was funny. ison's (and mine) misunderstanding came about because of a missing word (LIKE)

Read nutta's post again - sure he meant to say "members will drop off this site LIKE a sack of....

But we read it as:

Members will drop off.

This site (is) a sack of....

HENCE "THAT'S A BIT HARSH..." lol. Childish, I know, but I really liked that

Its a shame this thread has lost the plot, so to speak, as Nutta was making a very valid point.

There are visibly fewer newbies around now, joining games at least....

Any other suggestions for ways of encouraging people to play newbies more? Or indeed to encourage newbies to stay?

How about increasing the percentage of rank a newbie gets for winning? That may help encourage some?

firstly i apologise to nutta for my misinterpretation, an secondly i think that if u want 2 encourage newbies to play more ppl have got to stop making games and calling them things like "over 800 only" as thi sreli limits the amount of games a newbie can ply

Really? I'm finding it almost impossible to join a game and NOT to find a newbie in there. I still play them. Play anyone...Maybe I just have bad luck or something, but it seems to me, that about 95% of this site seems to consist of newbies

I hadn't noticed any lack of plankton either. There seem to be just as many as ever, if not more.

And a few of them are real newbies too!

I was told that nutta gave his account to some newbie the other day , and he plays like a newbie too so im thinking this "new" nutta is just trying cause havockon someone elses user name.

The amount of new signups is increasing, at over 100 new users a day. Repeat / secondary signups account for less than 5 percent, but maybe you're more likely to play these users as they will generally play more games.

I've certainly not heard any problems about newbies failing to find games!

And no swearing on the forum please nutta.
