The idea of a 'name and shame' thread has come up a few times. I realise something like that is totally unworkable as it quickly degenerates into a series of slanging matches.

I wonder though, if there is any way we can be warned about persistantly abusive and unsporting players. Reporting each incident via email is time consuming for all concerned and so generally the system doesn't get used.

Could a button be created where a player reports an abuser by simply entering his name. The names needn't be displayed initially, so nobody need ever know who reported who, but if (for instance) 10 different users have reported the same individual - then his name could then appear on a public list, and ppl would know that this player is to be avoided, or placed on ignore, and admin will have a ready made easy reference list of persistant offenders.

sounds like a cracking idea to me, although you could get multi users complaining bout the same ppl on a couple of different acounts

Yeah, I thought that might happen too. So could the complaints file only allow one complaint against an individual by ISP rather than user name?

Great idea m8 and the IP identifaction would work a treat . If this is implanted then it would be a nice addition , also if a few bad players have "ganged" up against you and reported your name , maybe you could have a score -10 to 0 f you -1 to -10 you could be on this board but if someone puts a good comment in about you then maybe you could gain half a point back or something similar
