yer i think they should do something about those golden breaks, theyre getting too easy for ppl now

Simple way to deal with golden breaks is to make them a loss like they should be. that way ppl can carry on doing them if they want, but the result will be correct..

Perhaps the best solution would be to create yet another game. What is now called UK pool could become arcade pool, with the goofy table and rules, and introduce proper UK pool with US style table and physics, and accurate rules..

i reckon some things should be kept in their original form, and the uk pool table is one. If people want to play on the upgraded tables, just play the us versions. A lot of people like the way it is, and would be quite gutted if it changed.

Just a matter of opinion really.

leave it as it is, if they changed it like the US versions, then the ball size would change, and thats no good for us users that cant change our screen res

I would like the UK table to stay the same. Just like you guys I love the forgiving pockets, the way you can snooker using the middle pockets as cover, and the slice shots you can play along the side cushions into the middle pockets.

It’s always been a pleasure using this table, and I would be the first person the erect the gallows if a change were to be implemented.

But………….have you played on the new snooker table over at http://www.funkysnooker.com . If you have then you know what a pleasure that table is, even with the middle pockets as they are. If this replaced the UK table I would possibly swallow my pride and get on with it.

This is coming from somebody who has always flown the ‘no change’ banner in the past, but that table is so much fun that I can’t help contradicting myself!!

Just had a look at the snooker site - and i have one simple question.

Why?!?!

Sure it looks ok if u shrink it to a quarter of the screen size but all the fun and playability of the proper snooker table is gone.

Weird.

But anyways, each to thier own!

That game should have came out first, much better anyway..to be honest I think their is too many games now maybe uk pool and arcade snooker would have just been better.

But it is only an option spinner, there is arcade snooker AND the original snooker.

I admit i used to enjoy the UK table, but that was before we had the pleasure of the US one.

As for the snooker, the proper table is beautiful, the physics are great, and it is a superbly playable game, however the arcade version just looks, frankly, awful. I really dont understand such a huge step backwards, but, this is the wrong site to discuss that!

Its not a wind up, just that trying to play on the old tiny table is so frustrating now.

Its like playing on the old table at your local. sure you can win, cause you know the mat slopes to the right middle and the whole table slopes to the baulk end, but it doesnt compare to a pleasurable game on a brand new table...

I know its a funkypool rule, but my main point was that it would sort out the problem with the "golden break bug" on here. Give them the golden break, but record it as a loss. that way the golden breakers get thier stats without unfairly lowering the rank of others..

Achieving a golden break is a sign of the quality of your skill. The only reason its become so common on funkypool is because big mouth players posted how to do it on here.

Keep everything as it is.. the site in my opinion is running more smoother and users are starting to come back and play a rack or two!

As of the Golden break theory it should keep the same whereas the player who gets the golden break wins the rack.. As who would want to lose rank , or a loss on their stats for an extra "golden break on their name". If this rule would be to change we would probably have the top golden break player's below 700, unless they play friendlies only..

There isn't a cause for concern of the update of the game.. and the tournament times people are getting used to now. I think i'm enjoying the site again on a whole.. And the new arcade snooker is smashing! well done on it.

Hell, a record for potting doubles would mean more!

Be tricky to inplant but would certainly add another dimension to the game.. hehe.. Be something to really go for as well!
