how about...something that says that if the opponent leaves the room, the game continues until the end of your shot...That'd work for anything, not just seven ballings, would also work for combos in 9ball. (Which are just satisfying to get) And if someone leaves on their own shot, you weren't on a combo or a seven ball anyway

twas MY idea, which means it usually doesnt happen, so thanks for posting it ltgenswing, it gives it a higher chance.
you have a runout combo
you pot 7 balls
opponent leaves
you get to continue after they have left
if you pot black, you get the runout, if you miss then the game ends and you have still got the win.

I think it'd work even if you weren't on a run-out...sometimes it's nice to pot the balls, especially in nine-ball, you can have a go at a combo no risk...you could have an "end-game" option, so if they leave after three balls (I don't have a problem with that rule) you can either continue your shot, or end the game...either way you win.
