There seem to be a lot of ppl getting banned from this site recently. I know the rules for this sort of conversation state you cannot discuss WHY someone was banned so i wont. This post however breaches no rules as far as i can see. There r a lot of childish comments happen on this site, the comments which seem to be getting ppl banned are in my opinion being blown out of proportion. We as users make this site and should we all conform to one rule and act like robots? no we are individuals. A forum is created to voice your opinions/concerns, and discuss them with other users. if it has got out of control then get rid of the forum area or accept that ppl will post the odd remark which is not seen to be acceptable. Dont ban them though for this, you will alienate all your users in time surely! the ppl who are banned are characters who can be controlled with sensible moderating. characters make things interesting, not a bunch of robots..

Firstly, no-one has been banned for any forum offences. We take away forum capabilities if there are any problems on the forum.

Secondly, 99% of users that are banned are banned for racism or cheating.

Discussing general banning policy is always welcome on the forum, but we will not discuss individual circumstances.

The forum was created in order for users to give their opinion on the game, and to suggest improvements. It was created to be constructive and to improve the game.

It was not created as an area for banned users to complain about being banned, and the forum rules are quite clear on this, which people agree to when they apply to be able to post.

Certain actions get an immediate ban, including racism and threats or claims to hack member accounts.

And lastly, you may think sometimes we act harshly, but every decision we make is for the enjoyment and safety of the majority of users on this site.

I'll just add that when a player is banned usually the member claims to friends to have been banned "for nothing".

We will not disclose our side of the story under normal circumstances, but we do try and be as fair and consistant as possible. Now we have additional staff to implement user policies for staff and members to follow.

The current user policies have been claimed to be too harsh by some and too lenient by others.

First line of Simon's post.."no-one has been banned for any forum offences" answers phillippe's post entirely. If no-one has permanently banned for forum offences recently, then the admin aren't too bothered by people being 'individuals'.
Something that's always confused me...if someone's been banned for being a cheating/abusive scumbag, how come they continue to have posting privileges. Or am I wrong about that?

i totally agree with phillippe here. i got banned from posting on the forums on my goldman username, for 'abusing the forums' lmao

i had my score reduced and sed my bit on the forum and then made a suitable suggestion dealing wit misbehavin users!!!! SO WHY did goldman get banned from posting?? it was an idea in the 'ideas forum'!!!!!!!!

You're correct, for first time cheaters we don't necessarily block their forum privileges.

About 4 months ago we upgraded the server to allow forum blocking only. It's since then we've attempted to deal with forum offences on a forum only basis.
