If a lot of the old ones were deleted and the forums 'cleaned' up a bit with stuff nobody reads any more (say 2nd or 3rd page onwards on each thread etc) would this free up server space and allow the game to run more smoothly?

well, i meant the recent probs with lag and balls speeding up on break off etc, just wondedered if it would affect play?

No it wouldn't affect play. Lag is a part of this site but the forum has no effect on it.

The balls speeding up is a bug I introduced when improving the break - duh!
Lag is specific to a person's computer, usually caused by Java version 1.4 or later, which seems to be affected by other processes run on your machine (eg MSN alerts, Shockwave adverts for some people, etc).
So, these things will not be fixed by clearing up the forum...
