I was just playing a game. I hit a shot and used full back spin and quite hard shot, fact being it was a straight shot as well and ball didnt move back a mm. Whats going on?

I think it depends on the distance. The closer the cue ball is to the coloured ball the more effect on the back spin.

Still, even at a large distance it should back spin at least more than a few mm. Just tested it from the longest distance.

considering the distance from cue ball and colour ball was matter of 1/8 table away from each other should at least get some back spin when hitting full back spin and quite bit power too, opponent was suprised too.

if it was a certain angle shot the ball wont move its called a angle stun

On the spin case, alan_shearer said that he hit it from a straight angle, However i have hit angled shots that rapidly decrease the spin power, maybe caused by another ball behind the ball the cue ball hits.

I'm not trying to be funny, but are you certain you managed to put on spin? A couple of times I've been sure I put on spin, only to see that I clicked just below the spin ball, meaning it didn't have any back spin.

It should definately spin back under full power straight ball contact.

Try it again on the practice table, the spin should always work the same way.
