If you was watching steve, you would have seen that you can pass the ball in a penalty as long as no body is in the box when you touch the ball.

Was a good tactic because he bottled the penalty but unfortunately didnt pay off.

yeah you can pass the ball from a penalty, but only if the ball goes forward and no one is in the box when the penalty is taken (as guess_who said)

It wasn't Van Basten Livvy, it was Cruyff that first pulled it off. He tried to play Henry through, so he could score or play it back through to pires who could finish the job. You can only play the ball once forward from a penalty, and he tried to dummy it, but skimmed the top so he had to leave it or it would have been wasted.

I thought it was funny how Henry got interviewed after, and he couldn't stop himself from laughing.
