When you loose to a newbie, the message says your change is reduces by whatever amount becouse you opponent is a newbie. Well, shouldnt this be increase. surely your score change should increase when you loose to a newbie rather than reduce.

Here's some info from the rankings info page FYI..
2) The newbie modification: if you play a newbie the points that you play for are reduced.
New user's are given a trial period of 100 games. During this period they are called newbies, and these 100 games allow the user to approach their correct ranking.
However as we are unsure of their correct ranking during this period we reduce the opponent's gain or loss in score.
This will prevent you losing a lot of score if the user is actually a very adept player, and stop you picking up a lot of points against a very weak player.
This is known as the newbie modification, and you can see this value if you turn on the stats in the options.
The maximum reduction is 80%, gradually reducing to 0% as the user approaches 100 games.
Ironically, newbies own scores are not effected by the newbie modification.

Yeh nick but the newbie rule can still remain the same, you could just modify it so that intermediates and aboves rank decreases more when they play a newbie.

Note that a newbie does not necessary mean a poor player.... it means a player new to the rankings system.
Players at the lower end of the rankings are called beginners.

I don't think it matters about ranking. Somebody could have a ranking over 800 and be totally useless. They may only get that high ranking by playing weak players. Rank doesn't determine how good of a player you are it only determines how seriously they take the game!
