im curious.... its not a genre ive heard of, with exception to cannibal corpse and mortis, there the only two bands prior to this thread of heard of referred to in this way.

well what's your definition of horror metal? cos i suppose technically speaking all heavy metal is "horror". i am of the opinion that sabbath started heavy metal, and they said the reason they did was cos they realised that people will pay money to go and see a horror film.

shame murderdolls split up, but if they didn't slipknot wouldn't be around i suppose, so murderdolls spliting up has a good side. wednesday13 is the same band as murderdolls but with a new guitarist (i think).
