I am often asked about how funkypool was created, so here is a summary...

Who created funkypool? How long did it take?
I (nick) created the funkypool code (and the earlier version at Pool Sharks). I have been working on the sites part time for 4 years, full time since May 2005.

Can I create a pool site / a site like funkypool / a website?
Yes! It takes time and patience to create a good site (for instance I still think funkypool has a lot of room for improvement). Also it takes experience - I've worked full time as a Senior Software Engineer in Java, and have over 5 years professional experience.

Still, if you're dedicated there is no reason why you can not create a website - it's not rocket science!

What tools did you use to create funkypool?
Java elements:

Else, there are lots of decent free sites out there that give you nice tutorials on any subject, just use google!
