i havent got any evidence so youll have to take my word for it. i was playing a game and i won, and then i started the second game, and potted one ball. the other guy suddenly stopped responding. so i left the game looking for pastures new, and i lost the game for leaving with three or more balls potted.

also i think the volume of the game needs to be turned up, i can barely hear it. maybe there could be a little volume control on the applet itself? if its possible?

So in the second game had only 1 ball been potted when you left?

As for the sound, sounds like a good idea. Sometimes its nice to listen to music whilst playing, but you like the music loud and the noise of the pool a little quieter. At the moment you can't edit in the applet. So good idea.

thats exactly it, however quiet i put the music, and turn up the speakers, the pool is just inaudible

Hey triangl, the scenario you described above is possible. Basically your opponent had potted the balls but hadn't been able to send the shot messages to the server (due to their dodgy internet connection). However he obviously got reconnected and sent the messages.

On the other hand I was playing yesterday and potted 3 balls including the black to win, however I had a powercut and therefore lost my internet connection, so the messages didn't get sent and the opponent won :(

Did something similar to me but this was last year, i was playing someone on the computer next to me at college and he potted about 5 balls but they never came through on my screen for ages, and then they did really fast

Yep, the messages are held in a queue on your machine to be sent. Either they get sent eventually or you get logged out.

You weren't aware that 3 balls had been potted and it was your opponents dodgey connection that would be at fault. Generally we don't change rankings, but I think its best to leave it now it has been changed.
