This will be my last post. (unless I get drunk again sometime in the future (highly likely, whatever))

We understand people can cross lines. But what are those lines? Surely the drawing of that line is the most subjective thing that ever existed. Either something said would be obscene enough to warrant a ban, or no punishment at all?

We question not, the decisions of our men and women in charge of the maintenance of order, we simply need to know the boundaries. Not derived from a selfish or antagonistic attitude, but for the need of fairness and equality for all.

One of the greatest inventions of our leaders was the ability to place a someone on ignore. Giving the power to the people. Decide your own lines of tolerance. Govern your personal environment.

However, why then would or should someone be muted? If it's objectionable enough to surpass those individual boundaries and spreading to an assumed offense of the majority of the masses, wouldn't it be bad enough to ban in the first instance?

To mute a person, is to infringe on the rights of innocent individuals. "your friend offended someone you don't know, on a timeline you weren't online for, so now you can't talk to them for a month".

Please stop punishing innocent people for perceived crimes of others. I should be able to log in after a year and hear from people, without them trying to communicate through room names.

If it's not enough to warrant a ban, what is the line to warrant a muting?

...and I say all this, without prejudice.

I'm clearly an easily ignorable person lol. I have absolutely no hard feelings to anyone who places me on ignore. But that's the beauty of the system.

On the reverse, I only have a couple of people on my ignore list, yet wouldn't dream of wanting them muted.

Let us please scrap the muting of people, and let individuals decide who they want to hear from, and who they don't. Like it once was. We fixed a problem that didn't need fixed.

Trust people to ignore those who annoy them, and trust others to hear things they want to hear.

I say this with nothing but love. Let us unblur the lines. If muting's are to remain, define the difference. Give us examples of what would lead to a muting, and what would lead to a banning.
