Are you using Proxy Server or Automatically detecting the LAN?
Go to Settings in Google
Scroll down too Advanced Settings (Blue writing)
Change Proxy Settings (under Network)
Click on LAN Settings
Make sure the Automatically Detect box is checked.

Then download the 32 bit Java from the Offline Installer: (make sure all other versions of java are deleted via the Control Panel/Add Remove Programs etc.

The browser's not the issue - you can access those menus via Control Panel & Internet Options - have you contacted your ISP (Internet Service Provider) - they might have disabled Java Applets
Ironic but it's true:
Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or system administrator:
* To get proxy server information
* If Java applets are disabled to run on your network
* If you are trying to access a blocked web site
IF you want to run on a proxy you have to ascertain that information from your ISP and then go to the same screen and click on Use Proxy etc.

Kool good to hear.
I don't personally like AVG Zen but each to their own.
Glad you have it working and can return to the game.

if you have a 64 bit computer
you need to down load both
32 and 64 bit offline versions

You don't need to download both you have the option to download either offline installer. I only download the 32 Bit and my systems 64 bit.
Never had any issues.
A lot of the 64 bit versions don't actually work and create more conflicts than necessary especially with the Security certification. Each to their own though, it might work for some but the majority I wouldn't recommend it.

Kool all good then.
Not had many issues in tournaments neither only once or twice when paired vs the same player.
A little frustrating when it happens but it's just the same as a connection failing etc...we take the chance still and most of the time...it's fine.
