Thought I would start an Olympics thread

Start Date -- Friday, August 5th
End Date -- Sunday August 21st

Got high hopes this year for some UK gold medals, big shame about the Zika virus that is around, looks like a few athletes have decided not to take the risk and have dropped out, namely Rory McIlroy

Since when was golf an olympic sport anyway

Only since 1930 lol but they dropped it a while ago. I think any sport or game that is played in a big way around the world should be included. Darts snooker and pool should be in there. Anything that the general public actually play themselves. There's a lot more people play pool and Snooker than people who shot put or horse jumping I would have thought. It's a bit elitist with some of the sports.

How did Russia finish 2nd tonight in the men's gymnastics? He stepped outside the area on the floor routine. GB didn't deserve 3rd - but Russia didn't deserve 3rd neither...China did.
