Further to many suggestions and requests from members and staff alike over the previous weeks and months, and a quick word with Nick, we have decided to perform a full overhaul of the current tournament structure both on snooker and on pool.

We have tried to bring in a mix of micro, speed, normal and marathon for most game types (where possible), including a few "different" tournaments which will change at random to keep you on your toes

Although this has been somewhat neglected recently, we will try to rotate the tournament schedules more often from now on.

Whilst we are fully aware that not all changes will please all members, we hope that this review will be acceptable to a great majority of you.

It looks like the tourney's have changed to on the hour every hour If so that is good news! Just need rid of a few micros still too many xD

Looks better time will tell but hopefully bigger better tournaments will make more people stick around

I think it's always good to change things about, I don't actually think they should be a daily occurrence, maybe give 48 hours notice and build up the interest instead of just spontaneity?

The Monthly events are proving successful till now the more time you give the more interest you can build up, maybe even have little incentives say picked at random the 11th person to join the tournament wins something, just a little more incentive to join. You'd be surprised what numbers could be incorporated. Even if you announce the number before hand will entice more players to want to win.

Just an idea of course.

They already do some of that ash, the server randomly boots players and the ones that survive win ranking points or tournaments...have you never played the server lottery? Gotta be in it to win it

No!!! Life to me's a gamble, so I keep to that mate.

I don't think admin get the point..... Get rid of Mirco Tournaments, and more people will play the proper ones. It's logical..... If not, they'll play ranked games, which there are hardly any of. Keep the main Tournaments at the head of every hour, and the Speed, Marathon plus any other Tournaments you introduce at half past the hour.

Nice to see a change in the tournies but i agree with chris we need to scrap the micro tournies as they are pointless.

I think they do have a place on the basis that they are generally well populated, allow for games to be played at the full tournament rank weighting and give competitive play for players eliminated from the 'major' hourly tournaments or for those looking for a quick pool 'fix'!!

Removing, or reducing, the available tournapoints for Micro tournaments would be a better way to go for me so as to minimise their contribution to the daily/weekly/monthly medals.

finally someone who thinks like me. this should have been done ages ago. micros devalue tournapoint medals, any tom dik n harry can win them.

It needed a shake up but looks like on some nights i won't have my nightly straight pool :(
Which is annoying for me but feel the majority will prefer this and i will adapt.
Though if you wanted to add a daily straight pool tourney at 11 ;) lol

We will fine tune things as time goes on. While the rotation keeps things fresh it is understandable for people to like a regular tourney too, so we shall seek to accommodate this too in some way.

There aren't many 'core' tournaments at the moment, there are loads of Speed, and Marathons, will this be changing soon?
