A recent Java update (Java 7 version 21) changed the default security settings and asked all Java developers to release their code signed using a digital certificate. This basically means that checks are made that the code was created by me, and has not been tampered with before it reaches your machine. The certificate is signed with my name.

Currently it is not enabled by default until I get more feedback. You can enable it via: http://www.funkypool.com/help#java_security and click signed. I would appreciate as much feedback as possible. Other than the code being signed there should be no changes (the game still runs in the limited Java sandbox and the game play should be identical). One advantage is that the certificate can be optionally accepted and no more security dialogs are shown.

In addition to this change there's a few small changes. The forum seach page formatting has been fixed, and other forum pages should load a bit faster. Premium subscription reminders weren't working but should be fixed again now.

Has the blue highlights just been added? I've never noticed them before.
I've also chose the signed option and I've noticed no differences to the gameplay etc...

How do you search on the forum?

Go the the thread list, (eg, this page http://www.funkypool.com/forums/game_queries ) then at the bottom right there is a box where you can type and it will search for what you typed.

The code incorrectly interprets a bracket as part of the URL, but brackets aren't valid URL, so this will be fixed.

Yes, the highlighting is new, it was always meant to be there and a very quick change to add.

Prob the wrong thread , but its java so someone maybe able to help.
Has everyone downloaded the java 7 update 45 today ? I have and now I cant get online , any ideas ?

I updated mine last night, now the fluidity on the table has gone, it tends to stick every shot as if it's buffering. Any way i can eradicate this? I've carried out diagnostic tests and my CPU usage is 9% (LOW).

It's not the laptop it's a brand new one.

I've defragmented my hard drive last night and cleared the cache already.

I just didn't update, I never do unless it's essential, still works fine for me on the older Java and runs very smooth, I know a few people who are having trouble so maybe linked with the update.

I updated yesterday, and things are fine here

lol, last update made my screen transparent, that was the best, I tried this update and won't complete, think I'll give it a miss till 2015

I did decline update to start with , but it wouldnt let me online then either , all sorted now tho

Same happened to me, but I couldnt install the new update till I deleted the old java.
Unfortunately my comp wouldnt let me delete it.
So I had to install this fix it tool to delete the old java.
Then install the new one.
