I think we should be able to like people's comments or a thumbs up, i know these are used in Facebook, YouTube etc, but i have also seen the utilized in many forums, if we had a thumbs up or down system, the more thumbs down's you get your post gets hidden automatically,( let assume people thumbed it down due to unsavory or unesercery comment content) i think it would tidy the forum look and bring it up to date with this forum feature, i know its a lot of work to integrate this, any feedback or addition or suggestion is always good, cheers

Quite like the idea, shouldn't imagine it would be too hard to implement having a "like" option, not sure about it hiding posts after a certain amount though. Spose its just conditional formating...very easy on excel, not sure when its a website.

Then Mr.K your early rant would get thousands of thumbs down so it would be non existent?

A like button would be good but im sure that would be copyrighted by facebook or something stupid like that, that would make Nick not want to do it

only problem which has been mentioned on snooker is that people may dislike posts simply because they do not like that person. for example lets say i dislike mother_earth (<< made up name) and she posts "Hello clan, how are we today?" and i dislike because i dislike the player its not a true reflection really.

on youtube i see spam all the time removed from call of duty videos and if the post has enough dislikes the post is removed but shows the original comment in a spoiler.

on another forum i go on if you do a double post then the two posts merge to form one, also no character limit i don't think, on clan league website i think i set it to like 30,000 something like that .

theres a sunday leauge football forum i use, and its true that comments arent judged on there content, there more likely judged on anything other than there content, we award and take away karma for comments,id say about a third use the system properly and the rest just abuse it

My advice to anyone who wants something adding or taking away from funkypool is to simply not bother. Other than banning and revoking posting rights Admin dont do much anymore, rarely even show that they care about your opinions.

And they wonder why active users is on the decline.

As for this idea, it's pretty good, and the format youtube uses, where the post isn't deleted but hidden is better than straight deletion.

I don't like this idea...Not really needed. If you like somones post, good for you, but if you dont then post and argue your point across.

Back on subject it's a good idea. No need for a dislike button or thumbs down as if it was so bad moderators would deal with it, and it could be used as a tactic to start an argument of why dislike my post.
