Why does funky pool allow players to reset stats - then play as newbies This makes a ranking system pointless.
I enjoy playing good players, but it should be on an even footing.
There is something dishonest about playing as a newbie (even if it's allowed) having had a high ranking previously.
Why not just stick with a ranking - good or bad. The fun should be improving it without constantly resetting.
I for one am very dubious about playing 'newbies' because of this practice (I used to play everyone).
Of course, this means I come in for quite a bit of abuse, particularly from those who reset.
Perhaps, funkypooll should police this practice. It's a shame because funkypool is enjoyable aside from the resets ruining it.

while i agree on some points, i don't on others.
resetting is there to try and keep people on one account and not deactivate, although if you couldn't deactivate but have a name change and keep your stats (1st time would be free, others would be a 50p charge) this makes you think of a name even more.
people may reset for challenges which maybe only obtainable through resetting. Pro Newbie would be one of those.
other reasons people deactivate is drunken nights, privacy, getting away from abusers, stalkers etc.

I agree m8 but there's that many people who reset so its best just staying away from newbies if it gets to you that much, you can always tell who the resetters are tho anyway!!
The reason they started allowing people to reset was because most people used to just deactivate and make a new name and it made the forums look a mess with deactivated user all over the place, so you can't win either way because if they took away the option of resetting people would just keep making new names again!!

Is there much difference in playing one game type over and over and getting to say 818.3 in this game type and then going to play a game of 8ball where your rank is say 722.4 (some would say a false rank)?

People who continue to make new accounts more than they change their knickers are more annoying than resetters. At least you usually know you are facing a resetted player and not some idiot high end player trying to get a huge rank or increase their win percentage.

I dont think I could. Used to have 3 or 4 seperate accounts though, which is worse in a way
This ^ is the reason why reset accounts were made available in the first place. To give people the option of a fresh start and save having a load of different accounts.
