I have been using the great program for quite a bit now, I can say that this really does work. When I put it on for the first time it was about 2am and my eyes were burning like crazy from looking at the screen for too long. When the screen went a much warmer colour I could feel my eyes relax and the burning sensation went away.
It has a cycle on the program where the screen gets a gradually warmer colour as the sun sets in your area, so you don't really notice it changing.
It takes a while to get used to it, but once you do it really does help you sleep better. The people who make flux have also done some extensive research about how people sleep, and can be found here: http://stereopsis.com/flux/research.html
If you would like to try the program, which I highly recommend that you do, it can be downloaded here: http://stereopsis.com/flux/dlwin.html

Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?
Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?
During the day, computer screens look good - they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.
f.lux
F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.
It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.
