i have an idea for nick, maybe allow 1 name change for free then say from 50p thereafter as it will be helping the site.

i got the idea from xbox live, premium is the live part and name change is name change.

I don't think anyone should be allowed to change their name
Its unfair if just a small minority of people get to change their name.
Pick something that you like to start with, then you'll never need to change your name

Yeah but a lot of people have been members for years... i myself have had this name for something like 4years.. it can get a little boring

Easy remedy, deactivate and choose a more suitable username

it also stops that name being in use again for a year or so, so eventually you'd have too many names you can't use yet noone is using. Good idea.

plus once you change and have to pay 50p to get it changed again, it allows your previous name to be used by someone else.

maybe a tab similar to link on posts saying what your previous names was so friends can keep track of you.

the only downside is clan leagues with name changing fixtures will be hard to control which is why im against the idea.

Well maybe open up the name once its changed? i'm not sure, if nick was to do the change, i'm sure he'd make it work

If only you could transfer stats from one profile to another

As thats impossible, i dont think deactivating and choosing a more suitable username is a good idea

in jims defence he's pointing out there's no reason to keep the name if you just want a name change you can get the stats again. I can under stand what they say but i do think it's needed.

Maybe nick would find it a good idea if money was based on this like mentioned above, 50p a name change would increasethe revenue of the site to self run itsself and also gives the members (customers of the site) what they are asking for.

True, but i couldn't think to imagine how long it would take each player to deactive and make a new account (might have to make a new email address) and then start from scratch getting stats back to what they originally was

Hardly any input or ideas from members are even looked at so i don't see the point as we all know nothing will happen.

Most threads are looked at, discussed about, then sorted out between the members. Nick then reads them, but as everyone has already come to a conclusion like this one is nearly doing, there is no need for him to post on it.

Had mine 5 years, and never even thought about changing it

I think Jims idea seems most reasonable, If you want a name change, you pay the consequences

shouldn't be the case though, you then get the morons who moan about "resets" it's a viscous circle in that respect

I never have been a lover of deactivating accounts as Im sure admin will justify. But in the circumstances if a member would like a name change, then sacrifices have to be made.

Jim it will be overlooked if there is a way to stop people moaning about deacters, help people change name & most importantly help funkypool run its self by the input of paying.

It's a win win win situation if you look at it like that, all partys are happy and if not i cant see why they wouldn't be

I dont think that there will ever be an easy solution to deactivation accounts, however I do agree or would back a policy on members paying for the privelege of a name change.

This however has a massive implication on usernames in clans!

What is more important clans or members using funkypool?

Pay for a name change would be mine too, but i would like to see more payment options if this was the case as i'd rather use my card to pay directly instead of making a paypal and then put money on it etc hence why i haven't got premium as i refuse to make a paypal just for that.

Considering Nick has nothing to do with clans (at the moment) and the fact the vast majority of users are not in clans then I would say that members using funkypool are a lot more important than just clan members.

Maybe put on someones profile when they had a name change who their previous names were. (Think someone mentioned that before)

But I can see this causing a lot of trouble with people who have had to deactivate in order to have a new name, I know a few people who have done it now and will be really angered if this comes in now and they still don't get their stats back. I lost over 250 uk runouts and about 200 tournaments on my mich account would be a bit peed off if someone now gets to transfer their stats knowing I couldn't.
