I will log in, click on open game, and the game screen will start to load, then close automatically. Anyone else having this prob. I have not logged in for a few months, and the only thing different is an updated version of internet explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

This can be caused by a corrupted java installation.
To rectify:
- Go to control panel
- Add remove programs
- Remove all the java versions you see (there may be more than one).
- Clear browser histories including downloaded program files.
- Reboot (even if you're not told to)
- Then visit http://www.java.com for a new, clean, install.

You can override this with the newer versions of Java - http://www.funkypool.com/thread/17676/copy-and-paste-with-latest-java-java-6-update-24 , but please read before performing any actions.

or just download version 6 update 19 from file hippo which is the safiest option.
so follow nicks advice but instead of going to java.com go to file hippo (can search it on google) and then you can find the revelant java version.
make sure you get rid of new java before downloading the old one.
when auto updater comes up, click on it and press cancel or it will download new java

Java do not recommend using older versions. only the latest version. Any old and unsupported Java on your system presents a security risk.
Having the latest Java ensures that all Java applications will run under the most up-to-date security and performance.

i would if i could copy and paste, but i dont want to use nicks advice there since i can go back to an older version what i know will allow copy and paste.
EDIT: its not that i don't trust nicks advice but i don't really want another computer to break as it may be months or longer before i get a new one.

It certainly isn't the safest option. The safest option is to live without copy and paste.
The reason I said it's at your own risk is that copy and paste is prevented on Java 6 update 24 as a security caution - so that a malicious website can't copy your clipboard.
What you're suggesting also reintroduces the copy and paste security problem and a whole number of other security patches that have been fixed in the 5 updates since update 19 has been brought out.

ah cheers for that, next time java auto updater comes up ill do it straight away, but i just want to be able to copy and paste, stats for instance.

Yeah I thought about the whole clipboard copying thing and by installing an older version you do so at your own risk, thought about this as I could potentially copy personal details, without being aware, personally I don't think it would be worth the risk.

If you need to post your results, stats and tournament wins, you can still copy from your results and events page on your profile. It looks to me this security measure applies to Java applet windows, as in the game window we currently have or any others run by Java.
