Why is a picture i never uploaded being displayed as my picture? ( Meaning profile pic )

I think that if u change your profile picture and you have allowed facebook link it puts facebook picture up ....

Yes i took the link to facebook away and it went blank...meaning that if u are linked to facebook from this site a change of picture will result in your facebook picture being a default untill a moderator approves your new one

Yes that's exactly correct. If you link accounts your Facebook public profile picture is shown. Having an accepted user picture overrides this.
