why have friendly tournaments for people who cant even be bothered registering

The friendly tournaments are for newbies who wish to gain some tournament experience before losing their newbie tag and entering the more competitive tournaments, and for those who wish to play just for fun only.
You need to be a member to enter any tournament, so I don't totally understand how you think they have not registered when they have.
