I have an idea of a new clan league should fbl fold.

It would based on the fcl , but 5v5 , still 15 frames but 3 of 8ball, 8arcade,9ball,9arcade,and 8uk.

It would also be 1 division so like a championship, there be top scorer and golden cue.

Would be run by 1 or 2 independent people.

Clans would be the same as fcl but it will bring in the new game types and give all teams a chance to play each other also you find the best all round player at end of season.

Will have an identical website to fcl with few tweaks to fcl rules but that is the general idea.

any thoughts.

Clans are dead tbh and the FBL folding is because it's to much for clans to play, to many games and people get bored of it tbh. If it's one simple league it will be much better and maybe arcade will be introduced into the other league. The idea for the league is good it's just that clans are dying and i been around a few years now to see that if these many leagues keep going then clan numbers are going to fall.

i personaly think players not getting enough game time thats why it failing

but there's loads of clans and players around ? :-/

Something to have a think about if you get this going...

I think one large league is preferable simply from the view that it copes better with the teams that inevitably fall by the wayside which otherwise risks leaving you with two leagues completely unbalanced in numbers as we have seen.

However the downside with one large league is that it will last far too long. The longer a league runs the more difficult it is to keep 'losing' teams interested. Therefore you either need to 1) be pretty strict on numbers entering or else 2) look to release more than the two fixtures per two weeks.

I do also believe two leagues running alongside each other doesn't work well - as Kirk has said above, and as was said at the start of the current season. If you can get an agreement to alternate seasons it would be better for all particularly if you go down the route of 2) above. There would be far too many games per fortnight if FCL games were also being released at the same time. It may also keep things fresher for players in alternating leagues, and for the FCL with a good long break between their seasons.

Just a couple of thoughts even though I won't be taking part so really have no right to comment, but good luck anyway.

I'd prefer sorting the clan cross-country into a proper league to run alongside FCL where all 14 players tournament wins count for the clans.
Throwing arcade into the mix isn't going to solve any problems half the decent players have no interest in it at all. FCL is by no means dead and the cross-country could put that bit of spice back into it, get teams more together without putting any extra fixtures in at all.

it would need alot of work with working out rules and points plus a league website

The rules for scoring are already there think the start of next FCL season get everyone posting their tournament and micro wins on their teams threads, we all know the threads that have no activity lead to teams going under this gets every FCL teams threads buzzing.
Captain or vices just send the results in to whoevers running it, could have weekly winners as well but a running league either 1 big league or matching division 1 and 2 FCL.

i still think my funkypool football league is a better idea to be honest!!!
