i had an idea about having potting success for all game modes, i have looked for a similar thread and there was one from 4 years ago and i think it's such a good idea that this should be up for discussion again...

I think the problem here is if this was to be implemented, this stat will be inaccurate to the rest of the current stats for each discipline.

Let's take my stats for example if this was implemented:

My 8Ball Billiards ranking

Ranking - 808.6 (58th)
Maximum - 878.6
Wins - 1,569 (66.2%)
Losses - 800 (33.8%)
*Turn Success - 0 of 0 (0%)*
Abandoned - 4 (0.2%)
Seven Ballings - 67
Run Outs - 13
Golden Breaks - 4
Tournament Wins - 19

Surely this is not correct or even accurate?

Maybe possible for new members and I don't think we would encourage anyone to reset their stats just to have this added to their profile.

I might be wrong, this is just my take on the topic in hand.

I agree with Aaron on this, and supernova i dont like this idea much.

If you read what i put you will see that it never says that the game was broken, it was just an idea.

And i agree with what you lot are saying about that you might have to clear stats, but it would still work without having to display the correct number of pots / misses

well the tables perfect the way it is so no reason in changing it its very relevant mate

way this site now works is tournys are everything - this means everyone plays safe so really no point in having turn success although i'd love to have it on an all out UK8 game i think i'd be well up there in top 5 at least

if this was implemented it would encourage me to be more aggressive in UK instead of playing defensive.

I always say there's no harm in additional stats, but there is a case to be made that profiles/tables get flooded after a time.

This is one of those that could be reserved for a "detailed stats" page, if it were to come. That being a page for each player with stats like these that wouldn't necesarily have a positions table, but were purely for info.

Sure, it wouldnt mean much initially and as pointed out could look silly next to established stats, but all percentage based stats mature over time it could be a useful tool for the more serious about the game.
