Chatting in chat room this afternoon the subject of ranking points for golden breaks in tournies came up.
Most players agree it is a fluke shot...
Therefore should such a shot be awarded double ranking pts which on occasions in US, UK and 9 ball can be 10 pts or more.....The lucky recipient of the game and associated ranking points has done nothing more than whack the rack in a certain way - the black or yellow has then normally cannoned off several balls and gone in a pocket.
Personally I would like to see a reduction in ranking gain for what is a fluke shot. Anyone who says it is not a fluke try repeating it 10 times in a row. You can't. Thoughts....?

it is a fluke but why reduce the rank? its not like you get golden shots all the time, they're somewhat special. you should be rewarded, why make it difficult by separating ranks for the circumstance in which you win?

some actually play for the shot, once i hit 4 golden breaks in UK in a row on practice table and was planned the whole time.
not all golden breaks are flukes, most of the top players plan their golden breaks and runouts but lower players and real newbies (not fake) would hit it and hope for the best.

Like i said earlier in chat room when someone takes points of me i want them to actually earn them, not one silly shot that don't exist in uk anyway. Robbery if you ask me

Well that's the rules here so you'll just have to learn to live with it.

With threads like this you'd think people got Golden Breaks every game.

I just GB'd in 9 ball
annoyed me though, because if the 9 ball didn't drop, i would've ran the rack quite easily
- and again >.<

A lot of your posts on these sort of threads always have you posting one of your achievements. There's no need for them at all, it's getting annoying now.
Doesn't matter how you opponent win, they won. (Like in snooker you don't get anything extra for winning by 1 point or 147 points in a frame, it's still just a frame at the end of the day)
Rant over.
