I just won the 8 US final this morning after Jim's connection failed at the start of the 1st game...below is the chat. Is there anyway, for future events such as this, that Jim could have forfeited that one game and then re-joined the match, say within a prescribed time limit of 2 mins.....

harsh indeed, remember my 1st tournie final with you Jim and got disconnected before any ball was potted lol.

It is frustrating and annoying for all non responders

Little word al, I would edit out that word after your tournapoints...

However I agree it is harsh not sure if it is your connection or the server but something is going wrong your end, it happened to me yesterday but not in a final thankfully.

isn't there a way it can resend you invite after being disconnected (like before a round starts) but in more than a first to 1 match, so it would re send you invite (3 mins to accept as usual) then you can carryon losing the frame you left.

This also means that when disconnected from any tournament the non responder ends up losing ranking points through no fault of their own.

yep and as i mentioned on a snooker thread, i tend to crash 2-5 times a day so would keep me off a while.

I can't see why not. I wonder as well if it would be possible for the game to detect when someone has stopped responding and automatically add the 90 seconds on to game time?


What is important to remember is that loss of connection like this is most certainly not any fault of the site, or the sites servers, or they would affect everyone.

Any number of things can affect the connection between your PC and the funkpool server, so finding out the problem can be difficult.

One extremely common culprit is missing or faulty ASDL Broadband filters.

Just to clarify, however, since loss of connection is so easily "faked", by simply pulling out your network cable or turning off your router for example, changing the outcome to anything other than a loss is out of the equation.
