Would it be a good idea to have straight pool also available on an 8UK table? I think it would be a completely different game to the standard 8US game, and would be much more funky!

Lets be reasonable here. Straight on here is the least popular of the main games on this site (Yes the stats say killer if you look on the help page, but them games involve at least 3 people, tends to be at least 5 on here)

Bringing this in would just simply split the already not massive amount of users on straight. It'd bring a few more players in but not many.

Needs to get very popular on this site before this becomes more viable in my opinion.

It would also decrease the difficulty massively

It's just recently, i've noticed you have a lot of players on this site that only play 8UK. They rarely play the 8US and 9US formats, so maybe this would encourage them to play other game types

I'm with you on this apples , id love to see another game type on here that's played on the UK table, surely it wouldn't hurt to add it ? After all if you don't like it you don't have to play it

the uk table makes me laugh with that middle bag the way it is so to bring in another game with that stupid middle bag is not a good idea

Never seen a real table where you can change cloth colours with the click of a button either , funny that , must be funky pool not real pool

funky or not that aint a uk table if the person who made it was from the uk he must have been drunk if anyone knows id like to know why it was made that waynot saying i dont like playing on it but id like to see a better table

Good idea, hmm - yes. But then we will want 9 ball on a UK table, the UK pool on the American table, Killer on the UK table and mini golf on the UK table as well.

I think we must draw a line somewhere and I think the line can be drawn between what we have now and UK straight...I think there are enough options for different game types as it is.

So I am not in favour of straight UK. It would make sense to have it, but I don't think we need it as there is no real demand from a lot of people on it as it is at the moment.

It was made that way because when the game was launched way back on poolsharks.co.uk, resolutions were much lower, connections were slower, and gameplay nowhere near as refined. Hence a very simple quick loading design with easier access pockets.

Yes, things have improved immensely since then, and some other table variations have come and gone and will continue to do so, but some people have been playing for more than ten years on that table, with almost 8 years of stats here on funkypool.

Would you like that scrapped?

Cosmetically the table may change, and was updated quite recently, but I am pretty confident the playing area will be staying as it is.

bring it in, i want to be the first to hit 1000 rank and 1000 run on straight - i'd sit 24/7 waiting for a game just to smash out the best possible run
