Apparently, the current rules for legal break in these games are "wrong", in the sense that while most of the world accepts the cue ball as one of the 3 balls having to hit cushions after impact, the current game rules here do not, and instead require 3 non-white balls to hit the cushion.
Could we have this changed to "standard" rules please?

1st time ive seen this thread, i dont think it makes too mich difference really. like pot 2 in 1 in straight isnt an offical rule (only counts as 1 i think) but its in the game.

It is certainly not a big deal, just annoying that legal, specialized breaks from real life is not within the rules of funkypool.

Only spotted it from practicing a well known real life straight opening only to find it does not meet rules on funky lol

well, straight is usually a call-shot game, so you cant pot 2 in 1 shot.
about break-shots: for example, BCA (billiard congress of america) will tell you that a legal break shot for 8-ball or 9-ball means either potting 1+ or driving 4+ numbered balls to the cushions.
Point is there are probably many different rules from different sources, so funky should decide what is best for this game (i don't care whether it's 2 or 3 or more).

Actually, potting a second ball after calling another is perfectly legal Irrelevant for funky since we don't call tho.

should be edited in my eyes - and the only reason why 2 in 1 is classed as a foul here is because its far too easy otherwise to hit runs of 100+

No idea what you are on about - this topic is about 3-ball break rules for killer and straight, not straight in general.
Nor does it have anything to do with how easy it is to do high straight breaks - it is only relevant for the opening break, not 14:1 breaks.

erm, you have to call each ball that you want to pot and their respective pockets. so yes you can make 2 or more but you have to call them both.
but youre right, that's off-topic.
just read a few other sources and they do give the cue ball + 2 numbered balls rule. so yes, youre right about this

Actually seen other rules too about that, but picked that up in an instructional vid on youtube so unsure which rule authority practices that.

im sure it's been talked about loads on some thread over here, but what about 9-ball break-off?? surely you can't just tap it (as an unnamed opponent just did)?
4 balls should hit rail...
