I think that running the rack should be changed.

Beside existing run the rack mode which is possible only if u are a breaker i think it should be added new one when u win the game on u first move.

To explain:

If u opponent breaks and not pot anything, then u win the game on your next move, it should be acknowledged as run the rack.

Think about that suggestion and post about it.

And the reason why you can't seem to do it on own break is because doing it on the opponents break is generally easier imo...

Which in turn is why clearing on the first visit after the opponent has had the break deserves a little less recognition than doing it on your own break.

Sorry I will have to disagree here.

A run out is clearing up the balls without your opponent coming to the table, but would not be a run out at all otherwise.

I can't see this being implemented to be honest seen as the rule you are suggesting is not even an official rule of 9 ball.

No crime at all in making the suggestion though.

In other words, a run out is a "break and clear up".. Take away the "break" and it's no longer a run out.. It's simply a clear up


If you do that in 8 ball, you get a 7-balling on your profile but no announcement as it just simply isn't as big of an achievement

Was a good suggestion pod, however, a run out or run the rack as has been mentioned above can only be achieved from the Break!

"If you break and clear up without the opponent receiving a shot, then you are awarded a run out."

This means that once the player who has broken and If they pot no balls, then the opponent will play.

Possibility of making an easier pot of the 1 ball leading to a possible run the rack.

Potting from the break will always be harder, so cannot see any implementation or change to the existing rules.

I was refering to someone who pot balls from 1 to 9. should be awarded something even if it is not on his break.

but it is ok the way it is.

i did talk about a 9 balling on another thread, where you pot 1-9 in that order (no combos).

i disagree completly unfortunatly, the idea is a shambles, as mentioned above clearing off your opp's break is 100X easyier then off the break for most people, to pot off break and clear takes skill, to clear off an open pack takes less as the balls are split nicely.

1-9 is also a bad idea as your then implimenting US9 into US & UK8 with the 7ballings 9ball is the way it is for that's how it got desgined, the rules shouldn't be changed IMO.

Right this is how it works from uk 8 with practically the same principles as us 8 and 9;

If your opponent breaks and clears it is called Run out;

If your oppenent breaks and misses and you clear, it is called Rack out;

Meaning;

Run out is where you break and clear,

Rack out is where your oppenent clears of you breaking.

So the system announcements should be changed to:

Announcement: ub3rnator got a run out.
Announcement: ub3rnator got a rack out.

I play county UK8 style, and there is no such thing as rack out as far as i am aware

Now that's a different story and one I can agree with. No idea what it should be called though (never mind, ub3rnator had a good one I guess), but a 9-ball parallel to the 7-balling would been nice.

Any more announcements than we already got would definitely mean the need to suppress them though.
