Am I the only one in here that is unhappy about the fact that players using the likes of XP Home and XP Pro or a Windows OS (Operating System) where internet explorer 7 is available can zoom in on tables to gain an advantage on all games?
Playing Original when zoomed in to 115% is like playing Regular on here.
Dont you think that if players are restricted by their OS then the game settings should be amended so that all players compete on a level playing field.
I am not as much as i was, an avid player tbh but I would rather know that if someone beats me they have beaten me through ability, not the ability to achieve an advantage.
Cant we get something done about this people?

to me zooming in or out dont make a difference unless i cant see the balls because they are so small

Theres also screen size to take into consideration, as well as player preference. Some players prefer not to be too zoomed in, some do.
I dont have IE7 but i can zoom in a lot if i wanted to, but i like to have it at the regular size

You can zoom? hmmmm may have to try it.
I think if we did a survey of the top players though, most would have larger screen resolutions. A bigger screen is such an advantage because you can be more precise on where you hit the ball.

Any number of OSes (and web browsers too I might add) have the ability to zoom in for you. You can't ban them all.
And as zante just pointed out, should we ban certain monitor sizes too?
I would certainly agree that people using "ruler" type programs etc would clearly be considered cheating (and I'm sure it is!), but apart from that you realistically cannot ask to limit which OS or browsers people use to access this game.
What about mouse? In my experience, a very essential part of the performance in this game... Shall we ban mice over a certain spec too? Maximum dpi? Maximum refresh rates?

Most definitely - no argument there.

This is really pointless has all OS has a on-screen magnifier where u can zoom in to a maximum of 1000% scale.
So for players like Destiny, Playing original is like arcade, He plays it on a television and probably has a zooming tool aswell.
I play on a 14" laptop screen,
I used to play on a 50" tele before it broke....
But i have never used a zooming tool.
BTW, Shouldn't this be in computer chat? not here? as this is about a programme installed on an OS???

Loving the comments, keep them coming, jan... you are going to the extreme with issues that are beyond the game creators control, if as i do use Vista and can only have IE8 and therefore cannot have the function of the zoom when in game rooms why should it not be implemented for everyhting else?
Mouse or monitor stipulations are imlemntable but i am sure able to be worked around, i just think that if something is currently preventing one or more user type to not have the same game play experience as others it is a little harsh, if i was the creaotr of such a game i would want all players to experience the same game effect as others but could not state which monitor should be used or mouse thats just petty.
long and the short of it is players that can use zoom get an advantage over players that cant due to something in the programming, and this is where i feel it ought to be addressed.
for the record i use a standard mouse and a 32" monitor but my friend greenie1983 uses a laptop with 14" screen. however when he plays me, he uses zoom and can easily kick my hind, i suppose it is about using the tools you have but still cant help feeling that IE8 users are losing out?

I recommend a change of browser then....
These are my game browsers when logging in with firefox and IE with the game settings identical... (i did check)

I never thought of using a zoom tool, I think a good mouse is the key to better game play anyway, since I purchased a Logitech G5 gaming mouse (mainly cos I play online FPS games), my game on here has improved alot.
I could only see a zoom tool being of help on original snooker or for people with small screens who have a job to see the balls.

What me and others are saying is that there are SO many factors to making a level playing field which are totally outside any control that it's pointless to focus on a single browser version like you are doing....
Besides, you can perfectly well run IE7 on vista shoud you want to, nor do I believe 7 has any zooming features ie8 hasn't...
Besides, there are tons of other browsers out there, all of which allow zooming for those who want it.
Basically you are focusing on a single grain of sand you dislike, while standing on a beach...
