I have been playing in game rooms with a 15 second shot limit, and my opponent gets roughly around 5 minutes to take a shot, if not more, whereas as soon as my timer hits 0 it gives me a random shot.

I understand when players aren't responding that they get a few extra seconds to shoot, but it didn't say he wasn't responding, plus he was talking at the same time so he definitely was responding.

Why is this? It's been losing me games like mad!

You lose games because you're opponent isn't rushed into a shot??

No, they get extra time to hit a shot, roughly 5 minutes or more after the shot timer has hit 0.



Me practicing won't fix a timer.

To the topic at hand: The shot timer is sometimes overruled by lag.

Unless you are overstating it though - the client should been logged out (90 secs isn't it? or was it 180? Less than 5 mins anyway)

This has been discussed and explained before - try a search.

Bottomline though - your opponent is lagging and therefore not subject to the shot clock. He should of course be subject to the login timeout, but there are scenarios where that doesn't work (the server need to know the client is lagging in order to disconnect it)
