Hiya

I was wondering if theres any way anything can be implemented on a post that contains an error to show us just where/what the error may be.
Ive often typed a huge message to someone or gone to post only for it to read:

Post may only contain numbers, letters, spaces or common symbols

Although its mostly common sense, that obscene words etc wont post, theres some words/symbols that seem harmless that wont post too and sometimes i read and re-read all my msg and cant 'see' where the error is so i have to go through a few things i think it may be.

(Ive just tired to add what would look like a smily on MSN in a post and it wouldnt let me...ill show you but seperate them)

Maybe have the word/symbol that cant be used in bold or something? Just a thought as i dunno if anyone else has come across this before.

Youre right, somethin should show us where the error occours, as there a really common symbols not allowed...

I've had this when trying to post song lyrics I've copied directly from other sites.

As you said Paula, it's almost impossible to find and delete any characters causing the errors, unless something tells you exactly where they are.

I have worked with something along these lines with JavaScript to validate email addresses ect. so it is possible.
