I'm using Windows Vista and I'm using a wireless router. I'm concerned that someone might be piggybacking on it although I don't think they are as it's secured. Assuming it isn't, is there any way of telling which devices (if any) are connecting to my wireless router? Thanks

First of all, take a look at your router settings if you don't know how to do this, type in your IP in your address bar and it should come up with the settings, depending on what network you are on there may be a tab called ''Devices'' or something alike. That should tell you every device you've had connected to your router, how long the connection lasted and should show the IP.
If that makes any sense at all!

I think so, but there were no other devices to be seen

If there was nothing in your devices list then you have nothing to worry about.
It would be very unusual for your router not to have even the most basic security, if not, it really is worth getting one with encryption. They can be as little as £10 on play.com and it's money well spent to prevent someone hijacking your account and generating charges, or worse, misusing it for something dodgy.

Im not sure about overseas, but in the USA, when you buy a wireless router it comes with the option to encrypt your network. It's in the router settings. I have my network encrypted and i didn't have to buy/download anything.

yeah but if he has more than one user on his network, like me for example, then all the lights would be on anyway lol
there is a way to check in your user settings how to track what IP's are using your connection, though I can't remember how to do it, I think one of my mates will know so I'll ask him asap
