in torny I just had at least a 37 run, but because my opponent left I went through and it wiped it didn't count, what a joke, so unfair, why the hell wasn't there a carry on or at least have the 37 before he left allowed to stand!!!!

The 37 should stand, but i presume he's updated the straight tourny so you can't carry on your run once the opponent has left. It's the same as snooker.

yeah, I know the carry on has been stopped, but my 37 should stand, instead I was just told I won by the other player getting DQ'd for leaving

Why has the carry on been stopped, I think the carry on should be in ALL game types. Opponents may leave a game when you've won in straight because they have a tournie invite and you could be on a big run, but it doesn't count because they left?
Seems silly to me

The consolation is your highest run being 43, so it's not like the 37 would have appeared on your profile anyway.
On a personal note i don't like the notion of every round in a straight tournament being completed (Except one) and 20+ people (Example) having to wait for a player alone in a room going for a personal best. This could easily be the case if runs were allowed to continue and would mean every round going the distance time wise.
I'm also pretty much against the idea of uncompleted runs being counted as a highest run on profile.

Or is it not obvious enough that it becomes a 1-0 like all the other tournys and let the person carry on their run until they get the invite for next round so they can decide if they want a higher run or leave to play the next game (ending not losing their run)
And why? people have got the runs fair and square (and in fact would be getting higher so no reason why it shouldn't

The reason it's disabled to carry on after is to stop you getting DQ'ed. It's been argued to change it back for a while now on snooker and it doesn't seem it will in the near future at all.

I don't mind that in the least, great idea in my opinion, and I don't mind not having the "follow on", I just want my announcement

What nick just said on snooker.
It should credit you though the run you're on. Bit unfair that is.

Apart from the reasons mentioned above people getting disqualified when trying to continue the break were much more numerous and vocal on the forum.
It shouldn't be changed back to protect breaks for high-break scoring minority who are aware of the different rules applying to tournaments.
