Definitely as said above contact you bank ASAP and lock you account so no-one at all can get into it (including you) the best way until things are sorted, I've lost my card I locked my account to be on the safe side and thankfully my card turned up.
EDIT - You have been refunded now?

Right, this will be good information for everyone...
Do you have facebook? If so have you recently added anyone you do not know? It happened to my sister, someone she didnt know added her and found her IP address. Somehow had hacked into her computer system this way and had found internet cookies of her online banking and transfered £300 to a Ukraine based business (not sure of the name)
Now I know there are many ways around this but this has happened to 3 people i know so must be the "newest trend" in credit/debit card scams, so only advice i can give you is to delete all your cookies after doing online banking/shopping.

^^ Good advice, and I will also add that you should not use sites like Facebook when using online banking, as theyconnect you (by default, you can turn it off) to the Facebook chat server so it is an open connection to your computer jjust like MSN messenger, Yahoo, etc.
@try - do remember this was youe paypal account being used, not your card directly, so you will have to sort it with paypal rather than your bank.
I would reccomend changing your paypal password immediately and possibly unregistering your bank details until the cases are resolved.

As a small piece of advice, sort of related to this;
I use a seperate account for all online shopping, including paypal, and only keep a small amount of money in the account so that if the details are nicked, they won't be much use to anyone
Your bank will be more than happy to set one up for you (they like to see people taking extra care, it saves them a lot of money not having to clear up problems), and you can use online banking to transfer cash instantly should you need to.

Thanks for all the info, They've used the fast paypal checkout on a website. I don't have a Paypal account for that reason : )
Thanks for the advice Spinner, will use it when I do open up a Paypal Account.
I decided just to leave it and suddenly today there it was, the money back into my account without even a phone call to the bank. Im guessing its happened to alot of people and they've automatically refunded all the transactions that person did with peoples credit cards.

I work at a bank in the US, so here's my advice.
Always, always report any suspicious activity that you notice going on in your account! If you let it slide the first time, it will happen again. It would be wise to have the bank cancel your debit card and issue you a new one, and most, I believe, would do so without charging you for a new one. But I would suggest taking extra precaution and close your account out all together - debit cards are linked to account numbers and if there are unwarranted charges on your account, then your account number is now open to others. Close it and have the bank open a new one for you.
You should always report such purchases as unauthorized and dispute them to get your money back. It's your hard-earned money, after all. You shouldn't let someone else use it without permission.

Yeah Paypal can be abit unreliable, I've never had an issue with purchases online to date but know of alot of people who have.
What I do is just have one credit card with a limit of £500 and use this for paypal and online purchases, better than a debit card has it comes with internet fraud protection (if I get frauded they will return the amount back), any bigger purchases than £500 then I will only do it over the phone with my debit card.
